#Project Progress- Week 10- BeachBody 21 Day Fix Results

This is a terrifying post for me; I am an absolute control freak when it comes to pictures of me and I am beyond scared to post my before photo. Like sick to my stomach of embarrassment, of shame because I let myself put on weight and nervousness because I still don't look how I want to. According to my POA that I posted at the beginning of #ProjectProject I should be at least 8/10 pounds lighter by now and the scales still haven't shifted. But I want to keep myself accountable, so I am going to be brave... fuck.

21 Day Fix

For the past 3 weeks I've been concentrating on a programme called 21 Day Fix; its a Beachbody workout led by Autumn Calabrese (who is an absolute babe). Surprise surprise, I haven't quite stuck to the exact schedule (busy life, energy levels, general Rachael excuses) BUT in the past three weeks I have done at least 15 workouts and have eaten much better with some surprising results.

WEEK 1

So week 1 went well overall and it was by far the best week. I did at least 3x 5.30am starts and did all 7 workouts. My containers didn't arrive until week 2 but I was still on point with my nutrition and tracking it with the 21 Day Fix app. The earlier starts were totally grand for the first few days but then I got a migraine on Wednesday, the effects of which listed 2-3 days so I did a catch up session at the weekend. I'm always catching up at the weekends; by the time I get home in the evening and get something to eat I'm just too tired and once I sit down I'm guaranteed to fall asleep within 10 minutes. I need to stick to a routine- I frustrate myself so much sometimes.

WEEK 2

Week 2 consisted of 4/5 workouts (again consisting of another weekend catch up session). My containers arrived and my portion sizes are just ridiculously off. I found it really hard to stick to the two yellow carb tubs because they are teeny-weeny but I enjoyed the easiness of the thought process; colour-coding is really my kind of thing! I was trying to track my food on MFP and the BB app just seemed to lose interest in tracking my food really quickly. When I win the lottery I'm definitely getting my own private chef.

I put together a vision board which really helped during my workouts; my 'after body' goal is for a holiday for my 30th birthday in April which is still a long way off but will be here before I know it so I'm really trying to keep focus, which is proving difficult.

WEEK 3

And so to Week 3- I did 4 workouts overall and just really lost momentum; work was busier in the evenings so I wasn't home until home about an hour later and I didn't get up early once to work out. Also on Sunday when I normally workout I decided to clean the house instead because it was driving me mad! I honestly thought that 21 days would be really easy but it wasn't and I always seem to find a reason to not workout when I'm tired. Short Term Pain, Long Term Gain. umm.

I was at a seminar recently and someone mentioned this Mark Twain quote:

It really resonated with me so this is my new motto; I need to stop putting so much pressure on myself that I don't immediately see the results I want but that its a process and every step, every bite, every workout is moving towards my 'Santorini bikini goal'.

Results and Measurements

Saying that I stood on the scales on Monday morning after 3 weeks of BeachBody and I haven't lost a pound- not a single one. At first it was incredibly disheartening and put me in such foul form. I honestly cant believe it- I didn't stick to the plan 100% but I did give at least 80% and I expected more... but then I remembered my new motto and I did my grid before and after photos and I was pleasantly surprised. I still have a long way to go but I am so glad that my coach (Frankii Newbery Fitness) encouraged me to take my (awful) before photos because even though the scales haven't changed I definitely have!

As well as the physical difference I have lost 5.75 inches overall, I just wish the number on the scale reflected what I was doing! So for now on wards and upwards- there's only 5 weeks of #ProjectProgress left!
