HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Goodbye to 2017 and hello to 2018, aka the year that I turn 30... Christ.


30. 3333300000. THIRTY YEARS OLD.


You know that F.R.I.E.N.D.S episode, 'The One Where They All Turn Thirty' and Monica is drunk in a corner because she can't cope. Yep, I can totally relate and I'm stupidly doing dry January so I cant even drown my sorrows at the very thought of it.

But anyway, HNY! I thoroughly enjoyed Christmas and ate whatever I wanted. I stood on the scales yesterday morning to assess the damage and I have gained 1.5kg/3lbs which isn't bad seeing as how much crap I ate over Christmas but there was a silver lining; I got my motivation back! I started to feel so ill everyday with how much food and alcohol I was consuming and I started craving vegetables, salads and healthy things. I'm so round and none of my clothes fit properly so I am now determined, more determined than I have been in years and I'm really excited.


Last year, was simultaneously amazing and horrendously shit and I didn't put my health first so I put on about 20lbs. I was trying but not really ready to do something about that so my efforts failed. I did my initial planning; I went through about 6 notebooks of plans of actions and project names and nothing helped because I wasn't doing it wholeheartedly. I originally lost about 50lbs in 2009 and hadn't put it back on in all this time and I promised myself I wouldn't go back. I'm nowhere near how big I was but I can see how easy it is to slip back there and I'd just hate that so much. I think this recent weight gain speaks volumes; there is a direct correlation between my happiness, my mental health and that weight gain and now that I am in a much better place I really want to work for this.


So alongside my motivation (FINALLY) coming back, Santa was amazing this year; I got loads of new Nike training gear, resistance bands and TRX straps. So yesterday I did my first TRX Workout and it rocked; it was really difficult and it was only an introductory video but it was class. I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to doing more this evening.

Just as an FYI I haven't gone mad holding a random plant pot- this is a plant that was given to us as a pressie at Christmas. It takes about 16 weeks to grow and flower so its going to feature in my monthly pictures. We are both going to flourish.

So of course I have a project for turning 30 *shudder* (on the 29th April, hence the name) which is 17 weeks away and I have about 17lbs to lose which is super handy. I feel really positive about this.


January POA

- Dry January (just recently found out that a bottle of wine is about 1000 calories!!)

- Clean Eating

- Train 3x per week (at least 400 calorie burn per workout)

- Workouts include Weights, TRX and Beachbody WOs

- 10 Min Abs every day

- Vegan Meal Replacement for lunches

So I am, and will for the next four months be, working really hard because I WILL have that Santorini Bikini photo. My sister and I are also going to Iceland in about seven weeks so I'm hoping to be happier with how I look by the time we get to the Blue Lagoon and might do a sneaky progress photo.
